Raising the voices of patient advocates

Patients, survivors and caregivers are best positioned to advocate for change in cancer prevention and control policies. Their voices are essential in ensuring patients are at the centre of decision making in cancer control prevention, treatment and support services. Through webinars and first-hand experiences from patient advocates, this course will provide an overview of what is required to be a patient advocate: a willingness to learn, the capacity to communicate and the confidence to deliver clear and powerful messages. This course will build on knowledge from UICC’s previous course on patient engagement, with a focus on how to move from experience to expertise.
