This webinar aims to provide basic guidance for general surgeons or those specialized in breast surgery on how to read and critically appraise trial publications and presentations. After the webinar, the audience is expected to have a better understanding of the different sections of a trial report and to be more familiar with the different levels of evidence in research. Moreover, surgeons can obtain basic guidance on how to identify possible sources of bias on trial reports and differentiate relative and absolute benefit in a clinical trial. Through this basic course on critical appraisal of trial results can help surgeons obtain caveats for decision-making in daily clinical practice and in communicating relevant research to patients.
